A proud Albertan, family man, and tireless advocate for the people of Parkland riding.
Biography
Dane Lloyd grew up in Parkland riding — his family has farmed outside of Spruce Grove for generations. He is a proud life-long Albertan, serving alongside his wife Raechel and their three children: Brooke, Alexander, and Harrison.
Dane attended Trinity Western University in Langley, BC, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Studies in 2014. While at TWU, he was elected Vice President of Academic Affairs of the Student Association, served as President of the TWU Model United Nations Society, and attended the Laurentian Leadership Centre in Ottawa — building the parliamentary foundation he would bring to Parkland.
Before entering politics, Dane served in the Canadian Armed Forces as a reservist, honouring a family tradition of military service. His experience in the forces shaped his commitment to national security and emergency preparedness — priorities he continues to champion today as Shadow Minister for Emergency Preparedness and Community Resilience.
First elected to the House of Commons in the October 2017 Sturgeon River–Parkland by-election, succeeding Rona Ambrose, Dane has been re-elected three more times — in 2019, 2021, and again in April 2025 with 53,468 ballots cast. He continues to fight every day for the families, farmers, energy workers, and small businesses of Parkland riding.
Parliamentary Roles
As Shadow Minister for Emergency Preparedness and Community Resilience, Dane has been a leading voice holding the government to account — especially after the devastating 2024 Jasper wildfire exposed years of Liberal failure to protect vulnerable communities.
On the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security, Dane fights against the Liberal gun confiscation regime, foreign election interference, and the organized crime fuelling Canada's auto theft and extortion crises. He also sits on the Standing Committee on Natural Resources, championing Alberta's energy sector on the world stage.
